To you who are entering the Dark or finding your way through it, I am here with you. Be patient, dear one. Trust in your knowing. Have faith in your body; the body knows how to heal. Go to the Earth and use the hands you were given. Both will hold you through the sleepless nights and unbearable days. You are resilient. You are enduring. You are brave. And, you are healing.
Each breath, each step, you are being born anew. Love is here with you and love is holding you. Choose to love with the pain, anger, grief, doubt and fear. That is our choice—to love or leave. Stay with yourself. Be with your journey. Befriend what you can. Allow the process, accept the imperfection. You are the strong core within you, the steady center that weathers it all.
There is death and decay in the Dark, but there is also birth and regeneration. Entering into darkness, when it calls, is to enter into the fullness and richness of life. In time, we realize that our stay there and, possibly, our returns are great gifts. The winters of our lives nourish us and direct us.
To you who have been in the dark for a long time, some seeds take years to germinate, but then a summer comes and there they are—bright, beautiful, blooming. To you, dear friends, who are dealt incredibly difficult hands, I ask, have you ever seen a weed burst through a wall or push through a break in concrete? I have, many times. All the memory and medicine is within you. Use what you are given, distill the meaning from your experience, and rise with me.
